Finally, a high school that treats teens like the world-changers they are.

No grades. No standardized tests. Just real-world impact, university-ready skills, and an education shaped by your child’s passions.

We’re raising a generation of innovators, activists, and entrepreneurs — yet most schools still teach like it’s 1985. Rote memorization. High-stakes exams. Artificial silos between ‘subjects’. The result?

Creativity declines by 40% between ages 10–15

(Kim, 2011)

Anxiety skyrockets as teens chase perfection, not purpose

Real-world skills get sidelined for test prep

At Pathways, we’re rewriting the script.

As a high school educator of 20+ years and a father of 2 young children, I created The Pathways School as my answer to our shared vision - to honor our children’s unique brilliance and full humanity, not just in their younger years but throughout their lives; not just to shape their own paths but to shape our wider world.

The Pathways School Core Pillars

Personalised Curriculum

The Pathways Curriculum enables students to ‘choose their own adventure’, one that’s inspired by their own passions and aspirations, opens up alternative life pathways, and meets global university requirements.

Real-World
Readiness

We believe the best way to prepare for a world we are yet to imagine is to cultivate free-thinking minds that are wired for possibility. The outside world is the best classroom, be it through community service, internships, entrepreneurship or adventure.

Ecological
Living

Through communal living, holistic wellbeing, and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, we hope to create a microcosm of a healthier world, where we live in harmony with ourselves, our planet and each other.

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

– William Butler Yeats

The Pathways School is inspired by parents like you who believe in a new educational paradigm, but think…

“We love our natured-based / child-led / progressive school, but where can my children go when they’re older?”

“We believe in education beyond grades, tests & rigid curriculums, but what if my child wants to go to university?”

“I’m not sure uni is right for my child, but how can they thrive in a world that values conventional markers of success?”

Q&A

Join the Adventure!

If you’d like to follow along or support the creation of The Pathways School, we can connect in the following ways:

Hello, I’m Rob Wilson.

Growing up on a self-sufficient organic farm has shaped my educational philosophy in multiple ways. Firstly, it instilled in me a belief that the world outside is the best classroom. Throughout my 21-year career in education, I have been drawn to schools that share this philosophy, from the therapeutic nature-immersive Oakley School, to the wall-less ‘school of the future’ Green School Bali, to Alma Forest School in Southern Spain, where my 2 children currently go.

Secondly, life on the farm taught me the importance of learning how to learn. With back-to-the-land professors as parents, our family was green in more ways than one, which meant my siblings and I had to get comfortable with living life without a manual from a very young age. Asking critical questions and creative problem-solving became a daily necessity in order to just keep food on the table! It’s why Theory of Knowledge has been my favourite class to teach for over 15 years.

Finally, farm life taught me the importance of nurturing responsible global citizens. Shared a symbiotic relationship with our environment gave me a profound awareness of what it meant to live consciously, to respect the world around us, and to be in right relationship with all living beings.

The Pathways School combines my experience in high school IB education, my love for progressive learning, and my determination as a father to preserve my children’s creativity, wonder, and zest for life - long beyond childhood.
