The Pathway Curriculum
Choose your own Adventure
We believe that success takes many forms, and that our children’s learning journey should be as unique as they are.
This is why we collaborate with students to design personalized curriculum that prepares them for whatever life path they choose - be it higher education, entrepreneurship or a first job. By combining the freedom of a student-centered curriculum with the structure and rigor of university requirements, we ensure that our graduates are not only university-ready but also future-ready.
Personalized ‘Choose your
Own Adventure’ Curriculum
Every student collaborates with a dedicated team, including teachers, a university counselor, and support staff, to design semester-long projects that reflect their interests. Whether a student wants to explore Art History, Marine Biology, or Wine-Making, these projects will integrate core academic subjects like math, science, social science, languages, and arts to meet university requirements.
Alignment with Global University Standards
While the curriculum is deeply personalized, it will also be meticulously structured to meet international university entrance requirements. For instance, our programs will satisfy the "A-G" subject requirements for California universities and will be flexible enough to align with UK and European systems like A-levels or equivalent.
Real World Impact
Every quarter, students tackle a deep-dive project that is guided by the IB MYP Design Cycle. Students are encouraged to investigate real-world problems, think critically and creatively, prototype and iterate solutions, and reflect on their own thinking (metacognition).
Digital Fluency
Digital literacy at Pathways means knowing when to log in, and when to look up; being digitally fluent, never digitally dependent. We support students develop a healthy relationship with tech that is grounded in human connection, hands-on making, and critical thinking.
How do we know what really works in education? At The Pathways School, we turn to the data. John Hattie’s groundbreaking research on Visible Learning continues to shape our approach—prioritizing feedback, self-assessment, and metacognition to help students become their own best teachers.
